By partnering with the world’s LGBT+ business community, we connect the Eastern African region business community to major global business communities. Working together to promote inclusive business for LGBT+ people everywhere.

We are proud to announce that from 2022, Out Eastern Africa has partnered with the United States NGLCC (National LGBT Chamber of Commerce).
The NGLCC is the leading global business organization advocating for the LGBT+ business community, spanning more than 50 regional LGBT+ Chambers throughout the United States, and with a global network of over 15 worldwide LGBT+ Chambers.
The NGLCC is the exclusive third-party certifying body for Certified LGBT Business Enterprise® (Certified LGBTBE®) companies. Over 1/3 of Fortune 500 companies recognize this certification and partner with NGLCC to create fully LGBT+-inclusive supply-chains.
By partnering with the NGLCC, we are working together to advance the economic empowerment of LGBT+ people everywhere. Economic empowerment means when an individual or community has an equality of opportunity to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from the formal economy. For far too many LGBT+ people, discrimination, violence, and stigma limit their ability to participate in, contribute to, and benefit from such opportunities. Throughout the network, NGLCC Global promotes LGBT+ economic empowerment for individuals in the labor market, for LGBT+ workers in the formal sector, and for LGBT+ business owners and entrepreneurs.
By working closely with the NGLCC, we are also dedicated to advancing inclusive economic growth for LGBT+ people. Inclusive economic growth refers to the ways in which employment and financial advances apply equitably across all sectors, social groups, and socioeconomic classes. In contexts where LGBT+ people experience exclusion, there is significantly less economic output, which limits any meaningful redistribution into their well-being. NGLCC Global thus works with the private sector and public sector to develop ways to understand and foster inclusive economic growth for LGBT+ people.
Out Eastern Africa, The LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce champions, promotes, supports and empowers Eastern African LGBT+ business owners and entrepreneurs with valuable opportunities to learn, network, do business and prosper, contributing to the redress of the structural and economic injustices of our past. We seek to have a positive impact on the LGBT+ community and the greater Eastern African region. Founded on the principles of taking opportunity to all, business networks extend across 10 African Countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia, Ethiopia, Congo Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, and South-Sudan.
Eastern Africa includes some of the most notorious countries as far as LGBT+ inclusion is concerned. What cannot be denied however, is the fact that progress towards LGBT+ equality has been tremendous. Most of the progress however has taken place within the health sector, leaving out the economic part. This has reduced some community members to become beggars, be chased out of their workplaces, and be denied contracts, as a result of their sexual orientations and gender identities.
